An Old time Christmas

We decided to go cut a tree this year.  We live a lot of our life in old movies, books and really love the past.  Short of getting out the draft horses and hiking into the wilderness, the next best thing is the Christmas tree farm.  We made a day of it and had a lot of fun!  By the end of the day, even the dog snuggled up on the couch 🙂

So many trees to choose from!  Thought we better play in the snow before making such an important decision!

in the snow

Charlie had as much fun as anyone else!  We played in the snow until our fingers and toes were numb.  Finally time though to get serious and I think we found our tree.

pre cut

After some work we were able to get it somewhat dusted off and loaded up on the car.  It does not look real big standing next to that huge tree.  We were in for a big surprise!

This is one large tree, I think it grew on it’s way to the car 🙂

After I wrestled it into the house and defrosted it, we got our little helpers busy with lights and ornaments.

By this time, Charlie was done for!\

Inspired by the past, unfortunately we cannot go back in time, but this was the next best thing for us.  Thanks for stopping by, please check out the old time Christmas photos I found below 🙂
